Trimlight vs. EverLights

For those in search of permanent outdoor lighting solutions, there are a few options catering to the needs of both homeowners and businesses. While Trimlight is (unsurprisingly) our top recommendation with confidence, we recognize alternative choices. To aid you in making a decision aligned with your specific requirements, we've curated information highlighting the distinctions between Trimlight and EverLights.

Comparing Trimlight vs. EverLights: Differences You Should Know

Lifetime Product Warranty

  • Trimlight offers a lifetime product warranty. Trimlight dealers offer varying labor warranties, with a minimum 1-year warranty included.

  • EverLights offers a 5-year product warranty and a 1-year labor warranty.

Light Usage vs. Warranty Coverage

  • Trimlight offers a lifetime product warranty on up to 50,000 hours of light usage.

  • EverLights offers a 5-year product warranty and is advertised as 50,000 hours of light use.

Note: If an EverLights client uses their lights for 8 hours a night for 5 years, they're covered for 14,600 hours of light usage, after which the product warranty expires. In contrast, a Trimlight client using their lights for 8 hours a night for 5 years is covered for 14,600 hours, plus an additional 35,400 hours beyond the EverLights coverage.

Installation Differences

  • Trimlight installs under the soffit of homes and lights are protected with a channel.

  • EverLights installs their lights two ways; on the top lip of gutters or in the drip edge.

Note: Trimlight strongly advises against tampering with your gutters or drip edge, as these components play a crucial role in maintaining proper drainage and preventing water damage to your home, ensuring that your gutters and drip edge are in good condition is essential for keeping your home free from leaks and puddles.

Bulb Wear & Tear

  • Given that Trimlight installs their lights under the eaves of homes, our bulbs are shielded from continuous exposure to sunlight. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can have negative effects on LED bulbs, such as discoloration, reduced brightness, and a shorter lifespan. Additionally, excessive heat buildup within the bulb can lead to overheating and failure. To guarantee optimal performance and longevity, our LED bulbs are installed under the eaves where they are protected and shielded from direct sunlight.

  • EverLights installs their lights on the drip edge or the top lip of gutters, exposing lights, wires, and connections to sunlight throughout the day.

Multiple Bulb Options

  • At Trimlight, we recognize that each client has their own individual preferences and financial factors to consider. That is why we provide a diverse selection of bulb options, including classic, 3L, and commercial designed bulbs. This guarantees that there is an ideal choice to suit every requirement and budget.

  • EverLights offers a color-changing LED bulb and a classic white LED bulb option. On their website, they don't mention whether they have a commercial designed bulb.

Note: With Trimlight, the options for customization are endless. Our bulbs come pre-programmed in warm white and cool white colors, but that's just the beginning. By playing with RGB codes and adjusting brightness levels, you can create the perfect shade of white that suits your preferences. With Trimlight Edge, your customization dreams can become a reality.

Multiple Spacing Options

  • Trimlight provides three spacing choices: 6 inches, 9 inches, and 12 inches.

  • EverLights offers 9 inch spacing.

Channel Color Options

  • Trimlight offers over 50 channel color options.

  • EverLights provides the option for clients to obtain channel if they don't have gutters or flashing and has 60 channel colors.

Colors Available

  • With Trimlight, the possibilities are endless as you can explore over 16 million captivating hues that can seamlessly blend into any pattern creation. All bulbs can be individually controlled from Trimlight Edge.

  • EverLights does not mention on their website how many hues can be created, but we're guessing 16 million as well.

Movements Available

  • With Trimlight, you have access to a remarkable selection of 20 movements that can effortlessly enhance any custom built pattern, saved holiday pattern, or preset pattern within our innovative Trimlight Edge app.

  • EverLights has 12 movements.

Preset Patterns Available (Not holiday patterns already saved)

  • Trimlight offers 180 preset patterns. Preset patterns are different from patterns already available and saved on Trimlight Edge such as Christmas, St. Patrick's Day, Independence Day, etc. We have all the major and not so major holidays already programmed for you.

  • EverLights does not disclose whether they offer preset patterns like Trimlight does, but they do offer holiday patterns already programmed to their app.

Lights Dance To Music

  • Experience the magic of Trimlight as your lights come alive, dancing in perfect harmony with your favorite music. Connect and immerse yourself in a captivating symphony of light and sound.

  • EverLights does not provide the exciting and dynamic feature of syncing your lights to your favorite music for a captivating dance of light and sound.

Lightning & Snowflake Effect

  • Trimlight provides the option to enhance any pattern of your choice by incorporating a lightning effect and snowflake effect through the use of Trimlight Edge.

  • EverLights does not offer a lightning effect or snowflake effect.
