What is the difference between green and blue light on my Trimlight Edge Controller?

Green light = Local Wifi Network, Blue = Broadcasting its own wifi signal.

The controller is able to be operated directly on a local Wi-Fi network OR it can be manually connected through the blue light (Trimlight Wifi Signal) similar to a Bluetooth signal.

To connect your controller to your local Wi-Fi network, follow these steps: 

1. Make sure the mobile device is connected to your 2.4G network. 2. In the app on the list of controllers page, click the plus button on the top right corner and then click add device. 3. Follow the prompts on the screen to connect to your router. 3A. The first page will show a picture that indicates it can only be connected to a 2.4G signal. This page will also show a place to enter the WIFI password for the local network. Do not copy and paste into this field, only type in the case-sensitive password into this field. 4. Push and Hold on the STA/AP button until the light on the controller is flashing. Then push Next. Allow for a few minutes for the controller to communicate to the WIFI router for access. You should receive a SUCCESS prompt once the unit has connected.

If you receive a failure to connect. Please ensure the Wi-Fi signal strength is strong, The correct network password has been entered, and that the signal that you are connecting to is a 2.4G Wi-Fi signal. 

DUAL-BAND ROUTERS:

If you have a dual-band router where the 2.4G and 5G bands are connected as one. Follow these steps to force pairing.

1. Make sure the mobile device is connected to your dual-band network signal. 2. In the app on the list of controllers page, click the plus button on the top right corner and then click add device. 3. Follow the prompts on the screen to connect to your router. 3A. The first page will show a drop-down at the top of the screen that will allow you to choose AUTO or MANUAL. Please choose Manual for this step. Then enter the WIFI password for the local network. Do not copy and paste into this field, only type in the case-sensitive password into this field. 4. Follow the prompts once you continue through the steps. These will include: Pushing a few times on the STA/AP button until the light on the controller is blue then going into the WIFI settings of your mobile device and connecting to the Trimlight Wifi Signal. If it asks for a password it is 12345678.

It may say weak signal or no internet, that is okay. As long as there's a checkmark or something indicating you are connected it should work. Then push Next. Allow for a few minutes for the controller to communicate to the WIFI router for access. You should receive a SUCCESS prompt once the unit has connected.

MANUAL BLUE LIGHT OPERATION:

Click the STA/AP button once quickly until the light on the controller is a solid blue. You'll then want to go to your phone settings and go to available wifi networks in your area. You should see a TRIMLIGHT signal under the wifi signals and should connect to it. If it asks for a password it is 12345678. It may say weak signal or no internet, that is okay. As long as there's a checkmark or something indicating you are connected it should work. Go back into the app and refresh the list of available controllers and make any program edits and adjust your light settings as you want.

Once complete with using the Trimlight app, make sure to go back and reconnect to your home wifi so that your mobile device will have an internet connection again.
