Restoring custom patterns in Trimlight Edge can save you from rebuilding every color sequence and animation after a controller reset. The restore feature works only when a backup was created beforehand, so confirm that a saved backup is available before starting.
Before You Restore
Update the Trimlight Edge app through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Trimlight recommends using the latest version so the backup and restore features are available on your device.
A restore can only return the patterns included in the saved backup. Designs created after that backup will not be recovered unless you made a newer copy. If you regularly add or change patterns, creating updated backups will give you a more current version to restore later.
Restoring Your Saved Patterns
Open the Trimlight Edge app and follow the restore process shown in the video below. Select the saved backup you want to use, then keep the app open while the patterns are being restored. Avoid disconnecting the controller or interrupting the app until the process finishes.
When the restore is complete, review your Pattern Library and confirm that the expected designs are available. Test one or two patterns on the lights to make sure the colors, sequences, and animations display correctly.
If the Patterns Do Not Return
Confirm that a backup was successfully created before the reset and that the latest version of Trimlight Edge is installed. Close and reopen the app to refresh the Pattern Library, then check the restored patterns again.
Remember that the restore feature cannot recreate a design that was never backed up. In that situation, the pattern will need to be rebuilt manually.
