How do I delete or rename a pattern in my Trimlight Edge library?

Need to clean up your saved lighting patterns? The Trimlight Edge app lets you rename patterns that are difficult to recognize or remove designs you no longer want in your library. Both options are found in the Pattern Library, making it easier to organize your displays without rebuilding the patterns you still use.

Open the Trimlight Edge app and tap the clock icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen. This opens the area containing your saved patterns and scheduling controls. Under Pattern Library, scroll through the list until you find the pattern you want to change.

Swipe left across the pattern name to reveal the available options. Choose Rename when you want to give the pattern a clearer or more useful name. Enter the new name, save the change, and return to the Pattern Library to make sure the updated label appears.

A descriptive name can make it easier to recognize the correct display later, especially when several saved patterns use similar colors. Names such as “Warm White Accent,” “Christmas Red and Green,” or “Game Day Colors” are more helpful than keeping multiple patterns with generic titles.

To remove a pattern, follow the same path through the clock icon and Pattern Library. Find the saved design, swipe left across its name, and select the trash icon. Check the pattern name carefully before choosing the delete option so you do not remove a different design by mistake.

When organizing a larger collection, work through the library one pattern at a time. Renaming the displays you still use before removing older ones can make the list easier to review. The Trimlight app currently allows up to 30 saved patterns, so clearing out unused designs may also help when you are approaching the library limit.

After making your changes, return to the Pattern Library and confirm that the renamed pattern appears correctly or that the deleted pattern is no longer shown. Keeping your saved designs organized can make it faster to find the right pattern when controlling your lights or creating a schedule.

The video below demonstrates the full process inside the Trimlight Edge app, including where to find the clock icon, how to locate a saved pattern, and how the Rename and trash options appear after swiping left.
