Why does my connection to Trimlight Edge app fail?
If you are having trouble connecting to the Trimlight Edge app, the issue may be caused by an incorrect Wi-Fi password, a weak network signal, or a temporary communication problem between your controller, router, and mobile device. Follow the steps below to help get your Trimlight Edge system connected and operating properly.
Connection failures can happen for several reasons, especially during the initial setup of the controller. First, confirm that you have selected the correct Wi-Fi network and entered the correct password. Wi-Fi passwords are case-sensitive, so carefully check all uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters before attempting to connect again.
You should also check the strength of the Wi-Fi signal at the location of the Trimlight controller. If the controller is installed too far from the router or separated by exterior walls, brick, metal, or other obstructions, it may have difficulty establishing a reliable connection. Standing near the controller with your mobile device can help you determine whether the Wi-Fi signal is strong enough in that area.
It may also help to restart your Wi-Fi router and modem. Disconnect them from power, wait a short period, and then reconnect them. Allow the network equipment enough time to fully restart before reopening the Trimlight Edge app and attempting the connection again. Restarting the router and modem can refresh the network and resolve temporary communication issues affecting connected devices.
If you receive a connection failure after the Trimlight Edge controller has already been connected to your network, force close and reopen the app to refresh the connection. You may also need to perform a soft reset on the controller.
