Connecting Trimlight Edge to Alexa: A Step-by-Step Guide
Seamlessly Integrate Your Trimlight Permanent Holiday Lighting with Alexa for Effortless Control
Make sure your Trimlight Edge controller is already connected to your home Wi-Fi network and appears online in the Trimlight Edge app. You should also be signed in to the Trimlight account associated with the controller. Alexa uses account linking to find the Trimlight devices connected to that account.
Open the Amazon Alexa app and navigate to Skills & Games. Depending on the version of the Alexa app, this may appear under the More menu or inside the Alexa+ Store under Browse Alexa Skills and Games. Search for Trimlight, select the Trimlight skill, and tap Enable to Use.
Follow the prompts to sign in using the account connected to your Trimlight Edge system. Approve the request to link the two accounts. After linking is complete, Alexa should begin discovering the Trimlight controller connected to your account.
If the controller does not appear automatically, say “Alexa, discover devices,” or open the Devices section in the Alexa app and use the option to add or discover a device.
Once the controller appears, give it a recognizable name and test the connection with commands such as turning the lights on, turning them off, adjusting the brightness, or selecting a supported color.
If Alexa cannot find the controller, confirm that Trimlight Edge still shows it as online and that the correct Trimlight account was linked. Watch the tutorial below to compare each screen and complete the setup.
